Studio 53 were tasked with creating a short promotional video of the event, through the story of a family participating on the day.
Three key aspects to convey:
- The important work provided by Havens Hospices
- Fun participation at the event
- Call to action for viewers
With the event taking place across a 5-mile route, pre-planning was essential. We conducted a recce of the planned route ahead of time, and chose a number of points along the way which would be best suited for capturing the walk in progress.
Prior to the walk, participants would gather in the grounds of Little Havens Hospice. This would be the location for our interview with Ky, who had graciously accepted the invitation to speak with us.
However, with a short timeframe between the interview and the event getting underway, it was imperative that we could be mobile. Rigging up our 4K camera kit on a shoulder rig, we were able to adapt to timings, location and any moments which caught our eye!
Once the walk had begun and we had bagged our shots of all the happy faces at the starting line, it was now time to head to the car! Keeping ahead of the group, we were able to capture great shots of everyone as they made their way through the course. Some of the younger walkers thought that we were teleporting each time, which we confirmed was absolutely true...
Having the right tools at your disposal is crucial. We are able to record in 4K RAW, allowing us to pull out details in the image which could otherwise be lost on dark gloomy days or bright sunny ones. And with the Great British weather being what it is, this change in light could happen in the blink of an eye!
Check out the final video below! We're so happy to continue working with Havens Hospices, and look forward to working with them for may years to come.
A huge thanks to Ky and the rest of Ray's family for allowing us to learn about Ray's story, and another huge thanks to all the team at Havens Hospices for your ongoing support and hard work.
